New Haven has demonstrated West Nile virus (WNV)-positive mosquito activity as well as the adjacent towns/cities of West Haven, East Haven, and North Haven (updated September 23, 2019). Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) is most closely present in Shelton and Madison and with recent and continued warm weather and humidity, spread of infected mosquitoes is likely and opportunities of exposure increased.
